The U-M Computer Showcase is the campus sales center for these handy little devices. We'll sell over 1,000 per week at the start of the term, making for some long lines at the Showcase! Here is some information to help you expedite the process:
Check your course descriptions in CTools to see if you'll need one. We do NOT keep a list of courses at the Showcase.
Buy as early as possible! We do not expect to run out but our longest lines are usually during the first three days of class.
We offer a "bill-my-student-account" option at the start of the term. This is a fast (cash-free) way to buy a new Qwizdom. You'll need your UMID to process the sale. Sorry, we cannot allow you to buy for a friend this way since we need a signature to complete billing to a student account.
If you purchase a Qwizdom you don't need you can return it (details below) for a full or partial refund.
We sell Qwizdoms at both of our stores. If you're on North Campus, the Showcase in Pierpont Commons often has shorter lines. Also, we will be open Labor Day (Monday, 9-6, Union store only) for all sales, including Qwizdoms.
A. A Qwizdom is a hand-held device that's being used to foster class participation in many U-M courses.
A. The U-M Computer Showcase sells new Qwizdoms for $35 and (when available) used Qwizdoms for $22. They come with AA batteries, so they're ready to use at time of purchase. They can be purchased via cash, check, or credit card (Mastercard, Visa, or Discover) year-round at both Showcase locations:
A. Qwizdoms that are unopened and in good condition may be returned within 10 business days for a full refund. Products that have been opened or returned after ten days are subject to standard Showcase return policies. You will need your receipt for any exchange or return, so be sure to save it!
A. Your instructor will explain how to set up and use the Qwizdom. For more info on the remotes, see the LSA Instruction Group's Qwizdom site.
A. The U-M Computer Showcase can help troubleshoot technical problems. Be sure to bring your receipt in case you need to return or exchange it.
A. Yes, you can you the same device for multiple classes and for more than one term. Certain areas of study (such as LS&A sciences) use Qwizdoms in many courses.
A. Sell it! The Showcase will buy back your Qwizdom until December 24, 2009 (for approximately half the purchase price) as long as it's in good working order and you have your receipt.
