The Microsoft Campus Agreement is a contractual agreement that allows University of Michigan faculty, staff, and students the use of a covered set of products. These products may be used on all institutional computers, and distributed to faculty, staff, and students for home and/or laptop use.
In addition to gaining access to the most popular Microsoft products, including operating systems, desktop productivity tools, and infrastructure server products, University members may upgrade their current Microsoft product licenses to the latest version at the same low cost throughout the life of the Agreement. Departments may also downgrade the software if for some reason they need a previous version of software loaded on their machines.
The Campus Agreement is a special custom licensing agreement between U-M and Microsoft that is part of the overall Select Master Agreement that has been in effect since 1998. For more information, see the ITCS Microsoft page.
