Medical School Computer Purchasing Opportunity
The Medical School and the U-M Computer Showcase are pleased to offer a unique purchasing opportunity for U-M Medical students. This web order form allows you to purchase products via billing to your student account. If you prefer to pay via credit card you can opt into our Welcome to Michigan Sale OR simply purchase over the counter by visiting the Showcase at your convenience. However, during our busiest weeks we recommend ordering in advance so we can reserve product for you.
By pre-ordering through this form we will reserve product for you and prepare billing to your account. One advantage of billing to your student account is that the Medical School Financial Aid Office will receive notification of your purchase and will process additional loans for you, if you have requested them to do so. (To request a financial aid review of your order, you must call 734-763-4147 or send e-mail to medfinaid@umich.edu.) The amount you owe, after financial aid has been applied, will appear on your Student Statement of Account in August or September.
This year's sale features a selection of notebooks, software, and other supplies. These products were evaluated by Medical School staff and are recommended for new and returning Medical students.
Sale Dates
This purchasing option will remain open until July 15.
Payment Method
The transaction processed through this form will be billed to your student account.
If you prefer to purchase by credit card, you may select items of your choice in person at the Computer Showcase in the Michigan Union. You should also visit the Showcase if you wish to purchase items not included on this list (for example, additional software).
Order Pickup
Orders will be available for pick-up from July 27–August 6. If you require pickup before July 27, please send e-mail to computer.showcase@umich.edu and we will try to accommodate your request. We suggest you order as early as possible to make sure you start school with the items you need.
Pick up instructions (at the U-M Computer Showcase in the Michigan Union) will follow via e-mail. Sorry, we cannot ship products. Cancellations can be made until July 24 by contacting the U-M Showcase at computer.showcase@umich.edu. Please read all of the following terms carefully to see if this purchasing option is right for you:
Price Changes and Rebates
If our vendor partners lower the price of their products this summer, your purchase will be adjusted automatically to reflect the lower price.
If you are a Macintosh buyer, you are eligible to take advantage of Apple's rebate offer, if you choose to do so. Your iPod touch and computer MUST appear on the SAME invoice so please indicate your selection on the order form. You will be charged for this item so please follow the Apple process to receive your rebate.
Requirements for Ordering
You must be enrolled as a U-M student to take advantage of this purchasing option. You will need your uniqname, UMICH Kerberos password and your UMID (included in your admission letter) to complete the transaction. Please have them ready before you begin.
You are not required to purchase the recommended systems or buy your computer at the U-M Computer Showcase. Please note that a minimum purchase of $100 is required to take advantage of this Student Accounts billing option.
If you choose to include Microsoft Office (see our Basic Bundle) in your order, you must agree to the conditions set forth in the Microsoft Student Agreement in order to complete the sale. Please read them before you place your order.
Thank you for your interest! Have a great summer and we'll see you soon.
